The Ukrainians used up for about 182 billion kwh of energy in the year 2006.

Energy consumption in Ukraine, taking into account technological wastes in power grids, increased for 2/8% or for 5.013 billion kwh in the year 2006 as compared with the year 2005 – up to 181.884 billion kwh.

According to the Ministry of Fuel and Energy of Ukraine, on Thursday, the 11th of January, energy consumption by final consumers last year increased for 4% or 5,528 billion kwh – up to 143, 449 billion kwh.

In 2006, industry intensified energy consumption for 2.3% as compared with the year 2005 – up to 79,691 billion kwh, the population – for 7.2%, up to 28,338 billion kwh.

The share of industry in the total energy consumption volume in Ukraine reduced from 56.5% in the year 2005 up to 55.6% in the year 2006 whereas the Ukrainians’ one increased from 19.2% up to 19.8%.
